Our story

IMG_1557_edited.jpg

In 2016, a few years after grad school, I happily founded Re-create Studio as a pop-up art studio serving the Boston area. The name Re-create felt like the perfect name meaning “to create again, to live new life, and essentially…to play!  This notion informed the mission of Re-create which is to provide individuals with an inclusive, process-based outlet to re-imagine our own quality of life as well as improve the community around us.  Our brick and mortar barn studio is a dream come true and is ever-improving. I can't wait to see you there for a class or workshop!

Our Mission

Re-create is an inclusive community that believes creativity flourishes with others, and that everyone has creative potential. Our studio encourages engagement in the process of art, not simply focusing on the product.  We view creative practice like exercise- something that you need to be healthy and happy! We believe finding your creative voice, connecting with your community , and experiencing the natural mindfulness of art-making will increase your well-being and sense of purpose.

Re-create maintains a socially conscious vision and focuses on using recycled and biodegradable materials whenever possible. We seek to work toward more sustainable living through creativity... making, re-using, re-purposing, and re-creating!

LYNNFIELD — The idea for Re-create Studio started when owner Heidi Reynolds saw her future home and art studio online earlier this year.

“When we saw this place we said, ‘This has to happen,’” Reynolds, who was living in Melrose at the time, said. “We sold our house in a week.”

Re-create Studio is the culmination of a longtime dream for Reynolds, who had been doing pop-up events for years at places like Follow Your Art in Melrose and the Lawn on D in Boston.
