Community
everyone!
Re-create is committed to engaging with the community in a positive way. We hope to make an impact when needed by creating activist momentum through artwork as well as providing our crafty services to those in need. We lead volunteer workshops such as community FIX-IT days, RE-purposed mittens for the homeless, or making pouches for displaced animals.
If you or your organization could use the handiwork of the community or you would like to offer your creative services, get in touch!

Village Parklet Project Spring 2024
"Village Parklet Project " aims to engage the community on a large but personal level through self-guided art, reading, and historical experiences with miniature "Town Centers" in public locations. Each parklet will consist of a mini gallery, free little library, and mini historical museum. The art gallery's monthly shows will be curated through an application process and will encourage artists of all disciplines, ages, races, and identities to submit work. The first Village Parklet will be on in the town green and the second will be placed outside another public location such as the Senior Center, Market Street, or within a local park. In addition to offering a mini gallery experience, each artist will also be encouraged to provide a "take and make" project relating to their own work which will be available for visitors, as well as an interactive QR code.
The Village Parklet project serves the residents of Lynnfield of all ages, cultures, and identities, as well as visitors of Lynnfield. The interactivity will engage people beyond their direct experience, providing further opportunity for connection. This project provides a place for gathering, learning, sharing ideas, and creating connections. Through curated exhibitions, the displays will ensure the representation of a diversity of ages, races, and cultures through artwork, writing, and history. This will add to the public's awareness of the diversity of Lynnfield, as well as provide perspectives that we may not otherwise have access to. By meeting residents and visitors where they are in the community, we voice that art and culture is available and accessible to everyone, and everyone is welcome to participate. Each parklet will attach a QR code to a website where residents are encouraged to contribute their own story, hear and see other's perspectives, and connect.
